Westmill is pleased to announce that it has delivered a 4-deck Sequential Dryer Unloader to Weldwood of Canada, Quesnel, British Columbia. This is Weldwood's second Westmill Unloader, and is to be installed in January 2003.

Westmill's Sequential Unloader has several features unique to the industry:

1. Each deck features its own AC motor with its own dedicated Variable Frequency Drive, allowing each deck to unload quickly and quietly. The motor and VFD eliminates noisy and maintenance-prone pneumatic clutches typically used in this application.
   
   
2. The pinch rolls are driven by a continuous serpentine chain, which eliminates the need for double single chain drives that often loosen during operation.
   
   
3. The pinch-roll sensing gate has been replaced with three sheet-sensing photo eyes per deck, which will improve the sensing accuracy. The Sequential Unloader runs in a “First-In, First-Out” manner which increases Dryer output by sensing when sheets first leave the Dryer, rather than waiting according to the Dryer Feeder's loading sequence.
   
   
4. Westmill also supplies a large 5” diameter lower pinch roll, for greater stiffness and straighter sheet presentation.
   
   
5. An optional squaring stop gate is also offered.
   
   

This Sequential Unloader will service a 4-deck Dryer. Westmill manufactures Sequential Unloaders for all manufacturers of Veneer Dryers, with any number of decks and any width of Dryer.
