Sheet Reentry System Delivered to Federated Co-Operatives
Westmill Industries has delivered a veneer sheet reentry system to Federated Cooperatives, Canoe, British Columbia. Sheet reentry systems increase a plant’s veneer production by allowing low-moisture sheets to “equalize” in moisture content after drying, instead of having to pass through the Dryer again.

The machine will automatically insert and merge veneer sheets into an existing Dryer outfeed and automatic grading/stacking line. A vacuum fan system is used to pick up sheets from a stack.

Westmill supplied a 2-load storage infeed chain conveyor, scissor lift with hydraulic power unit, dual-head vacuum pickup system, and a suction belt conveyor. Production rates are predicted to peak at approximately 20 sheets per minute. Westmill has also supplied full control, including push-button station, Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) cabinet, PLC program integration, and on-site commissioning services.
